¡Es posible! - Michel Thomas Spanish course for schools - free sample download

Below you will find a link to download a free standalone TaskMagic program (which does NOT require TaskMagic).

The program is based on Phase 1, Module 1 of the ¡Es posible! Spanish course (published by Hodder), which is a course for schools based on the famous Michel Thomas method. The files practise and recycle all of the language used in Module 1 of the course, which is broken down into various steps and practised via loads of interactive exercises and printable worksheets.

The sample download contains 12 TaskMagic3 files, which are accessed via a simple menu screen.

Each of the 12 TaskMagic3 files contains a variety of exercises, games and activities which can be used on individual computers or on an interactive whiteboard.

In total the downloaded program contains over 150 interactive exercises and over 30 worksheets based on the 12 TaskMagic3 files.

The download is completely free and not time limited. It does NOT require you to have TaskMagic.

It is intended to give you an idea of the kinds of things that can be done easily in TaskMagic3, using your own content (your coursebook, schemes of work etc).

>>>> Download the TaskMagic Sample Unit as a Zip file<<<<

1. Click on the link, choose "Save", and decide where to save the zip file.

2. Once it is downloaded "Open" the file. (If you are asked to confirm this, choose "Allow")

3. Then "Extract All the Files". Make sure the box to "Show extracted files" is ticked. This will make sure that the folder will open once the files are extracted.

4. Run the file MTSpanish1Module1.exe (which is the one with the yellow smiley face, if you can't see file extensions).

You can move these files to wherever you like, but keep the 3 elements (MTSpanish1Module1.exe, MTSpanish1Module1.exe.manifest, filesetc) together in the same folder.

If you'd like to have a go at making your own TaskMagic files, you can download a 30 day trial from http://www.mdlsoft.co.uk/trialdownloads.htm

NB. The main TaskMagic program doesn't make standalone exe packages like the download on this page - it makes files which can be accessed using the TaskMagic software.

See hundreds of ready-made TaskMagic files at http://www.mdlsoft.co.uk/readymade.htm (you'll need TaskMagic3 - trial or licensed - to access the files on this link)

Hope you enjoy this freebie. If you have any comments, questions or feedback, please contact us via the contact page on the TaskMagic3 website: http://www.mdlsoft.co.uk/contact.htm or email mdlsoft@mdlsoft.co.uk

Please read the notes below - this pilot project could lead to a much bigger resource:

There is a possibility that TaskMagic and Hodder may work together to provide a complete resource, with a unit such as this one for each module of the Michel Thomas course (30 units in phase 1 alone). We would really like to hear your feedback on how you think a resource of this type would complement the existing ¡Es posible! course. So PLEASE download the FREE sample and, if you like, give us your feedback on the interactive resources (for individual computers and for IWB) and on the worksheets. If you don't already use the ¡Es posible! course, how much would the addition of a complete resource such as this influence you in considering whether or not to take up the Michel Thomas course for your school?

For more details of the Michel Thomas method for schools see the following weblinks:

The official Hodder site: http://www.michelthomasforschools.co.uk/

The site run by the author of the resource for schools, Paul Howard: http://www.phoward.net/Site/Welcome.html

Paul is a big fan of TaskMagic and has made TaskMagic files available for some elements of the course from the pupil pages of his site: http://www.phoward.net/Site/Pupil_Pages.html
The trouble is, these files require the user to have TaskMagic, so between us, we're looking into ways in which we can provide a stand-alone resource which DOES NOT require the user to have TaskMagic. Hence the free sample download above, and the possibility of our collaborating further on this.
