French Picture Match - le corps

A TaskMagic3 Picture Match file (requires TaskMagic3 to open it) based on parts of the body vocab in French and pictures. The file (link below) provides access to all of the games and activities you can see in the screen shot (above):

A selection of pdf worksheets based on the same content, printed out from TaskMagic3:

French modal verbs and question forming

Some French resources you may find useful for question forming using "est-ce que". The examples all use modal verbs - so any infinitive can be added to make a complete question. But the same structure would also apply to questions in present and other tenses.

I read an interesting blog post about the fact that language learners are used to answering questions but not so used to asking them. See: http://jasonrenshaw.typepad.com/jason_renshaws_web_log/2011/01/when-answering-is-only-half-the-potential-of-a-question.html

French "sort-of" synonyms - for GCSE reading / listening

Some matching resources based on 75 pairs of sort-of synonyms in French.

These are often the sorts of things used in GCSE French reading and listening papers to catch students out.

Here is the TaskMagic3 Text Match file shown in the image above (this requires you to have TaskMagic3):

And some TaskMagic pdf worksheets:

Tu veux ... avec moi? (mini story)

These resources are based on a short story about asking someone to go out / arranging to go out, with lots of high frequency expressions.

There are 11 worksheets based on the text itself and 4 based on the vocab. These were printed from TaskMagic3 (Mix&Gap and TextMatch) using http://www.dopdf.com , and combined as 2 pdfs with lots of pages using http://foxyutils.com/mergepdf/

Of course, you would NOT do ALL of these activities, but I've included them all so that you can see what is available.

French Christmas resources - Noël en France (exploiting a short text)

These resources are based on a short text about Christmas in France, which I think came originally from www.languagesonline.org.uk

There are 11 pdf files in all, all printed using dopdf - http://www.dopdf.com

The pdfs are based on a Mix and Gap file containing the text, which is also included below (mtx3). This file provides a wide variety of interactive exercises for use with PCs or with an interactive whiteboard. It requires TaskMagic3. If you haven't got TaskMagic3, you can download a 30-day trial from the TaskMagic website (doesn't require registration or anything - just download and install it).

If you've previously trialled TM3 and would like to trial it again, that's now possible. Also, if you'd like to arrange a longer trial period, that's now possible too. See the information at the bottom of the page at http://www.mdlsoft.co.uk/trialdownloads.htm

The screenshot above shows the student front page for the file in TaskMagicPlay. In TaskMagic, each of the little thumbnails links to a different interactive exercise.

French (GCSE level?) Halloween resources - text with exercises

The resources below are based on the vikidia article on halloween. I've taken a couple of bits of text out and put the last paragraph into the past. Here's the original article: http://fr.vikidia.org/wiki/Halloween

There are 11 pdf files all based on the same text.

I've also included the TaskMagic3 Mix&Gap file (mtx3) from which the pdfs were printed (using doPDF - http://www.dopdf.com), and which provides access to 18 interactive exercises for use with PCs and / or an IWB. This file requires TaskMagic3. (See http://www.mdlsoft.co.uk/mixandgap.htm for more info about the Mix&Gap component of TaskMagic3.)
